Congress  5th–6th  of October 2018 in Heidelberg

Dear friends and colleagues,

the Amyloidosis Center Heidelberg was founded in 2008 to facilitate the collaboration of different disciplines within the University Hospital. Since 2012 it is part of the Center of Rare Diseases. The goal was to improve diagnostics and treatment results of amyloidosis patients in Germany. Furthermore a broad international cooperation with other centers was initiated.

In the last ten years we have treated an increasing number of patients with AL, ATTR and AA-Amyloidosis, initiated and participated in national and international clinical trials. Finally, we were able to establish a national scientific research consortium (GERAMY).

This meeting aims to:

  • Demonstrate the status of political and social support of patients with rare diseases in Germany
  • Present Amyloidosis Centers in Europe and abroad
  • Discuss the State of the Art in amyloid diseases and new treatment options
  • Connect physicians to basic researchers

We are looking forward to meeting you in Heidelberg.

Ute Hegenbart, Speaker of the Amyloidosis Center on behalf the organizing committee
